Winter Learning Opportunities for Roofing Contractors

As production season comes to an end (at least in the northern markets!), now is a good time for roofing contractors to switch gears to focus on learning new industry trends as well as training staff to succeed next year.

We’ve compiled a list of events across the country for your team to consider. 

Dec. 14 | Bridgeview, IL | Lunch & Learn 
Our friends in Illinois might be interested in the Mindset for Growth FREE Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, December 14. ​​Charles Ottis will be presenting a seminar on growth opportunities in insurance restoration and roof replacement and how to get existing skylight covered by insurance. Dan Eftimof will discuss opportunities in the solar power business. Jose Carlos Mejia will talk about creating a well-organized process for your roofing business, and Life Coach and Business Consultant, Julian Guderley will motivate you to become a better version of yourself.

Dec. 16 | Virtual: 10:00 am – 11:30 am CST  | Basics of Vinyl Siding Installation & Tools of the Trade
VSI (Vinyl siding Institute) hosts a variety of workshops and webinars with the goal of expanding the siding installer workforce. Topics include product demonstrations from manufacturers, installation best practices, and more. In this webinar hosted by VSI’s Rob Balfanz and VSI Master Trainer Dave Verbofsky, as well as Jim Stangle & Scott Friese from Malco Tools, participants will learn about siding installation techniques and earn a Vinyl Siding Certified Installer Trainee Certificate.

Jan. 21-23 | Irving, Texas | SRC Summit
This event, hosted by April Hall, brings in contractors from all over the U.S. for three days of learning, networking, relationship building and fun. The industry’s top experts will be sharing their strategies for success.

Jan. 24-26 | Scottsdale, AZ | MCA Winter Meeting
MCA (Metal Construction Association) prides themselves on sharing best practices identified via thorough research. There are a variety of meetings throughout the 3-day meeting, covering topics ranging from codes and standards to retrofit and roll forming. 

Jan. 30 | New Orleans, Louisiana | National Women in Roofing Conference
National Women in Roofing (NWIR) is hosting a one-day conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 30th in advance of the International Roofing Expo (IRE). Connect, discover, and cultivate new relationships with roofing professionals.

Feb. 1 – 3 | New Orleans | International Roofing Expo
Each year, the IRE brings the roofing and exteriors community together to help them stay current on trends, see the largest selection of products and services, and connect with their peers. Their goal is to help industry professionals grow their careers and find new ways to improve the way they do business.

March 17-22 | Orlando, Florida | 2022 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show
IIBEC’s (International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants) premier annual event features over 17 hours of live, in-person educational seminars, a two-day trade show, and live product demonstrations.

Jan. – March | AirVent Seminars | Across the Country
AirVent is hosting seminars to teach contractors about attic ventilation all over the country from January through March of 2022. Topics include installation mistakes to avoid, selling tips, and code violations.
